Indications
- Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN)
- Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN)
- Adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients 1 month of age and older

Pharmacology
Structural derivative of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)
Dosage
- Maximum recommended dose of Pregabalin
- Dosage for Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy in adults (DPN)
- Dosage for Postherpetic neuralgia in adults (PHN)
- Dosage for Management of fibromyalgia in adults
- Dosage for Neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury in adults

Oral route of administration, can be taken with or without food

Unlikely to be involved in significant pharmacokinetic drug interactions
Contraindications
Patients with known hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any of its components

- Dizziness
- Somnolence
- Dry mouth
- Edema
- Blurred vision
- Weight gain
- Difficulty with concentration/attention
- Increased weight and increased appetite in pediatric patients
Pregnancy & Lactation
No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, small amounts detected in the milk of lactating women, breastfeeding not recommended
Precautions & Warnings
- Angioedema
- Hypersensitivity reactions
- Increased risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior
- Respiratory depression
- Risk of increased seizure frequency when rapidly discontinued
- Peripheral edema
- Caution with thiazolidinedione antidiabetic agents
