Indications

  • Treatment of postoperative inflammation
  • Reduction of ocular pain

Pharmacology

  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
  • Block prostaglandin synthesis
  • Inhibit cyclooxygenase 1 and 2
  • Anti-inflammatory activity
  • Mediators of intraocular inflammation
  • Disruption of the blood-aqueous humor barrier
  • Vasodilatation
  • Increased intraocular pressure

Dosage & Administration

  • One drop applied to affected eye(s) once daily
  • Treatment starts 1 day prior to cataract surgery
  • Continued on the day of surgery
  • Continued through the first 14 days of postoperative period

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to any ingredients

Side Effects

  • Abnormal sensation in eye
  • Conjunctival hyperemia
  • Eye irritation (including burning/stinging)
  • Eye pain
  • Eye pruritus
  • Eye redness
  • Headache
  • Iritis

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Pregnancy Category C
  • Caution during pregnancy
  • Caution when administered to a nursing woman

Precautions & Warnings

  • NSAIDs and corticosteroids may slow or delay healing
  • Caution in patients with known bleeding tendencies
  • Caution in patients receiving other medications which may prolong bleeding time

Storage Conditions

  • Store below 30°C
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from light
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Prevent contamination of the dropper tip and solution
  • Do not touch the eyelids, surrounding areas, finger, or other surfaces with the dropper tip
  • Tightly close the bottle when not in use
  • Do not use after 4 weeks of first opening
