Indications
- Rapid acting wide spectrum microbicidal preparation
- Disinfects clean hands of doctors, nurses, and persons
- Disinfects surgical instruments
- Disinfects skin prior to surgery or invasive procedures
- Disinfects wound dressing
Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol BP
Pharmacology
- Chlorhexidine salts dissociate at physiologic pH
- Bactericidal effect through binding to negatively charged bacterial cell walls
- Bacteriostatic effect at low concentrations
- Cell membrane disruption at high concentrations
Dosage & Administration
- Disinfect clean hands and contaminated materials: Take about 3 ml and scrub until dried
- Disinfect surgical instruments: Take about 5 ml and immerse instruments for 2 minutes
- Disinfect skin prior to surgery: Take about 3 ml and scrub with cotton until dried
- Disinfect wound/wound dressing: Take about 3 ml and scrub with cotton until dried
Interaction
- Incompatible with soaps and other anionic agents
- Hypochlorite bleaches may cause stains in fabrics previously in contact

- Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any composition
