Indications

• Treatment of severe acne in women unresponsive to other treatments
• Associated symptoms of androgenization such as seborrhea and mild hirsutism

Composition

• 21 tablets per blister pack
• Each tablet contains Cyproterone acetate 2 mg and Ethinylestradiol 0.035 mg
• 21 days on medication and 7-day interval without medication per cycle

Pharmacology

• Cyproterone has antiandrogenic, progestogenic, and antigonadotrophic activity
• Ethinylestradiol increases sex hormone binding globulin levels
• Components are rapidly absorbed after oral administration

Dosage & Administration

• 21-day course with 7-day interval
• Tablet to be taken daily at the same time
• Improvement may take at least 3 months

Interaction

• Reduced efficacy with concurrent use of certain drugs
• Altered effectiveness of other drugs when used concurrently

Contraindications

• Thrombophlebitis, thromboembolic disorders, or history of these conditions
• Cerebrovascular or coronary artery disorders
• Active liver disease or hepatic adenomas/carcinomas
• Known or suspected breast or estrogen-dependent neoplasia
