Description

• Gliclazide is a second generation sulfonylurea drug

Dosage

• Film-coated tablet
• Modified release preparation
• Usual initial dose 40 to 80 mg daily
• Dose can be increased up to 320 mg daily in divided doses when needed

Administration

• Take the drug before meal
• Take tablet(s) with a glass of water at breakfast time
• Always eat a meal after taking tablet(s)

Interaction

• Low blood sugar may occur when meals are irregular or skipped
• Blood glucose disturbances can occur when taking fluoroquinolone antibiotics
