Indications

Acute and delayed nausea and vomiting
Uncontrolled nausea and vomiting
Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV)
Radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (RINV)
Post-operative & Post-discharge nausea and vomiting (PONV & PDNV)

Pharmacology

5-HT3 receptor antagonist
Strong binding affinity for 5-HT3 receptor
Little or no affinity for other receptors
Inhibition of serotonin actions
Influence on emetic response
Selective participation in the emetic response
Linear dose-proportional pharmacokinetics
Metabolism via kidney and liver CYP enzymes

Dosage & Administration

Adult tablet dosage: 0.5 mg daily
Adult IV dosage: 0.075 mg administered over 10 seconds
Specific dosages for different nausea and vomiting causes
Children dosage: single IV dose at 20 mcg/kg body weight
Maximum children dose: 1.5 mg
