Pharmacology
Calcium, Magnesium, & Vitamin D3 are essential for bone health. Micronutrients like Copper, Manganese, Zinc, & Boron play an important role in bone strength and rigidity.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 film-coated tablet twice daily, preferably with meals and a full glass of water. Children 3-7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily. 7 years & older: 1 to 2 effervescent tablets daily.
Interaction
Interactions with thiazide diuretics, phenytoin, barbiturates, glucocorticoids, and others may affect the absorption and effectiveness of the product. Medical supervision is required.
Contraindications
Absolute contraindications include hypercalcaemia, primary hyperparathyroidism, Vitamin-D3 overdosage, severe renal failure, and hypersensitivity to any tablet ingredient. Relative contraindications include osteoporosis due to prolonged immobilization, renal stones, severe hypercalciuria.
Side Effects
Mild gastrointestinal disturbances, skin rash, hypercalciuria, and hypercalcaemia have been reported in rare cases.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Supplementation during pregnancy and lactation should be under physician guidance. Overdoses of Vitamin-D3 have shown teratogenic effects in animals. Vitamin-D3 and its metabolites pass into breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings
Careful supervision is needed for patients with mild to moderate renal failure or hypercalciuria. Periodic checks of plasma calcium levels and urinary calcium excretion are recommended.
Overdose Effects
Symptoms of overdosage may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and constipation.
