Indications

Recommended Dosage for Adults
- 8 mg tablet: Three 0.15 mg/kg doses, up to a maximum of 16 mg per dose
- 4 mg orodispersible tablet: Three 0.15 mg/kg doses, up to a maximum of 16 mg per dose
- Injection: Three 0.15 mg/kg doses, up to a maximum of 16 mg per dose, infused intravenously over 15 minutes
Administration Instructions
- Tear the pouch carefully along with the edge tear mark
- Place the film on top of the tongue allowing it to dissolve within 20 seconds
- Do not chew or swallow the film whole
- Swallow after the film dissolves, with or without liquid
- Wash hands after administration
Interaction with Cytochrome P-450 Enzyme
- Metabolized by hepatic cytochrome P-450 drug-metabolizing enzymes which may be affected by inducers or inhibitors
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the drug or its components
- Concomitant use of apomorphine

Rare Side Effects
- Anaphylaxis
- Brochospasm
- Tachycardia
- Angina

Pregnancy & Lactation Concerns
- No evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus in animal studies
- Excreted in breast milk, caution advised during nursing
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity reactions may occur
- Not to be used in place of nasogastric suction
- May mask progressive ileus and/or gastric distension
Dosage Adjustment in Special Populations
- Renal function: same as for general population
- Hepatic impairment: single maximal daily dose of 8 mg
