Pharmacology
- Additive antihypertensive effects

Dosage & Administration
- Effective dose range of Bisoprolol (2.5 to 40 mg)
- Effective dose range of Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 to 50 mg)
- Initial therapy with lowest dose (2.5/6.25 mg)
- Titration every 14 days
- Substitution therapy
- Therapy guided by clinical effect
Interaction
- Potentiation of other antihypertensive agents
- Contraindication with other beta-blocking agents
- Close monitoring with catecholamine-depleting drugs
- Caution with myocardial depressants or AV conduction inhibitors
- Risk of bradycardia with concomitant use of digitalis glycosides
Contraindications
- Cardiogenic shock
- Overt cardiac failure
- Second or third degree AV block
- Marked sinus bradycardia
