Indications
- Treatment of essential hypertension
Pharmacology
- Nonsulphydryl ACE inhibitor
- Rapid hydrolysis to active metabolite
- Inhibition of ACE activity
- Increased urine output
- Suppression of the RAAS
Dosage & Administration
- 1-2 tablets per day
- Preferably taken in the morning before a meal
- Special dose for renal insufficiency
Interaction
- Potentiation of hypotensive effects with certain drugs
- Reduction of antihypertensive effect by NSAIDs
- Potential for hyperkalemia with ARB and Potassium Sparing diuretics
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to perindopril/indapamide or ACE inhibitors
