Indications
- Treatment of essential hypertension
Pharmacology
- Nonsulphydryl ACE inhibitor
- Rapid hydrolysis to perindoprilat
- Inhibition of ACE activity
- Increase in plasma renin activity
- Interference with the degradation of bradykinin
Dosage & Administration
- 1-2 tablets per day
- Preferably taken in the morning before a meal
- Initial dose adjustment for renal insufficiency
Interaction
- Potentiation of hypotensive effects with antihypertensive & antipsychotic drugs
- Reduction of antihypertensive effect by NSAIDs
- Potential for hyperkalemia with ARB and Potassium Sparing diuretics
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to perindopril/ indapamide
- Hypersensitivity to any other ACE inhibitor
