Indications
- Treatment of essential hypertension
Pharmacology
- Nonsulphydryl ACE inhibitor
- Hydrolysis to active metabolite
- Inhibition of ACE activity
- Decreased vasoconstriction
- Increased urine output
Dosage & Administration
- 1-2 tablets per day
- Preferably taken in the morning before a meal
- Dose adjustment for renal insufficiency
Interaction
- Potentiate hypotensive effects with antihypertensive & antipsychotic drugs
- Reduced antihypertensive effect with NSAIDs
- Potential hyperkalemia with ARB and Potassium Sparing diuretics
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to perindopril/ indapamide
- Hypersensitivity to any other ACE inhibitor
