Mode of Action
- Acts as a spasmolytic flavone derivative
- Relaxes smooth muscle in the urinary tract
- Competitive muscarinic receptor antagonist
- Reduces contractions of urinary bladder smooth muscle
- Reduces stimulation of salivary secretion
- Reduces smooth muscle tonus in the bladder
Dosage & Administration
- 100 mg to 200 mg 3 times a day for adults and children over 12 years
- Dose may be reduced with symptom improvement
- Safety and effectiveness not established for children below 12 years
Contraindications
- Pyloric or duodenal obstruction
- Obstructive intestinal lesions or ileus
- Achalasia
- Gastrointestinal hemorrhage
- Obstructive uropathies of the lower urinary tract
