Indications

Pharmacology

  • Loratadine is a non-sedative histamine H1-receptor antagonist
  • Pseudoephedrine is an orally active sympathomimetic amine
  • Pseudoephedrine causes vasoconstriction and bronchial relaxation

Dosage

  • Recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years
  • Adjusted dosage for patients with renal insufficiency
  • Restrictions for patients with difficulty swallowing or gastrointestinal abnormalities
  • Safety and effectiveness in pediatric use
  • Use in patients aged 60 and older

Administration

  • Administered for antihistaminic and decongestant properties in patients 12 years and older

Interaction

  • Contraindicated with monoamino oxidase (MAO) inhibitors
  • Potential interactions with beta-adrenergic blocking agents, digitalis, erythromycin, ketoconazole, and cimetidine

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any component of the product
