Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol
Pharmacology
Bactericidal effect of chlorhexidine cation binding to negatively charged bacterial cell walls
Dosage & Administration
- 3ml for disinfecting clean hands and contaminated materials
- 5ml for disinfecting surgical instruments
- 3ml for disinfecting skin prior to surgery
- 3ml for disinfecting wound/wound dressing
Interaction
Incompatible with soaps and other anionic agents, may cause brown stains in fabrics in contact with chlorhexidine solutions
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any composition to it
