- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol
Pharmacology
Bactericidal effect of chlorhexidine cation on bacterial cell walls
Dosage & Administration
- Disinfecting clean hands: approximately 3ml per hand
- Disinfecting surgical instruments: approximately 5ml for 2 minutes
- Disinfecting skin: approximately 3ml with cotton
- Disinfecting wound/wound dressing: approximately 3ml with cotton
Interaction
Incompatible with soaps and other anionic agents
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any composition to it

- Skin irritation

- Teeth discoloration
- Eye problems if direct contact occurs
