treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in adult patients who have intolerance to oral iron or have had unsatisfactory response to oral iron

Formal drug interaction studies have not been performed with Revofer

hypersensitivity to the active substance, to Ferric Carboxymaltose or any of its excipients
known serious hypersensitivity to other parenteral iron products
anaemia not attributed to iron deficiency, e.g. other microcytic anaemia
evidence of iron overload or disturbances in the utilisation of iron

mild side effects including nausea, headache, dizziness, and hypertension
infrequent side effects such as hypersensitivity, dysgeusia, tachycardia, hypotension, flushing, dyspnoea, and more
rare side effects including anaphylactoid reactions, loss of consciousness, anxiety, phlebitis, and more

no adequate and well-controlled trials in pregnant women
careful benefit/risk evaluation required before use during pregnancy
unlikely risk to the breast-fed child based on limited data on breast-feeding women

serious hypersensitivity reactions reported
transient elevations in systolic blood pressure with facial flushing, dizziness, or nausea
laboratory test alterations in the 24 hours following administration

single maximum daily injection dose of 200 mg iron not to be exceeded in haemodialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease patients
not recommended in children under 14 years

Excessive dosages of Revofer may lead to accumulation of iron in storage sites potentially leading to hemosiderosis
