Indications

Dosage Form

Dosage Instructions

  • 0.1%: One drop in each affected eye two times per day at an interval of 6 to 8 hours
  • 0.2%: One drop in the affected eye once a day
  • 0.7%: One drop in each affected eye once a day
  • Two sprays per nostril twice daily for adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older
  • One spray per nostril twice daily for children 6 to 11 years of age
  • Adults: Take 1 tablet (5 mg) twice daily
  • Children 7 years old or over: Take 1 tablet (5 mg) twice daily

Administration Instructions

  • Shake the bottle gently before use
  • Clean the nasal spray at least once a week
  • Avoid spraying the nasal spray into the eyes

Pharmacology

  • Works as an antihistamine by blocking the action of histamine
  • Stabilizes mast cells and inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators

Pharmacokinetics

  • Peak plasma concentrations observed between 30 minutes and 1 hour after intranasal administration
  • Moderate protein binding in human serum
  • Plasma elimination half-life of 8 to 12 hours

Interaction

  • No formal drug-drug interaction studies conducted
  • No anticipated liver enzyme or P450 inhibition interactions

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in persons with known hypersensitivity to any component of the product
  • Not recommended for use in individuals allergic to the active ingredient

Side Effects

  • Rarely headaches reported
  • Adverse effects may include asthenia, blurred vision, burning or stinging, dry eye, and other symptoms

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Not teratogenic in animal studies
  • Use in pregnant women only if potential benefit justifies potential risk
  • Caution in nursing mothers

Precautions & Warnings

  • Do not use for contact lens-related irritation
  • Wait at least 10 minutes after instillation before inserting contact lenses
  • Use Aladay Max Nasal Spray as prescribed
  • Avoid overdosing and consult a doctor before stopping
