Indications
- Fever
- Toothache
- Headache
- Migraine
- Primary dysmenorrhoea
- Menorrhagia
- Mild to moderate pain in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
- Traumatic pain
- Low-back pain
- Juvenile chronic arthritis in children
Pharmacology
Nonsteroidal agent with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic activity due to its dual action on prostaglandins
Dosage & Administration
- Adult:
- 500 mg dose three times per day with meals
- 250 mg tablet three times daily
- 500 mg three times daily in menorrhagia
- Children:
- 5 ml (6 months to 1 year)
- 10 ml (2-4 years)
- 10 ml (5-8 years)
- 15 ml (9-12 years)
- Limitation: Treatment not to be continued for more than 7 days except on physician's advice
Interaction
- Aspirin: Concomitant administration not generally recommended
- Warfarin: Can inhibit platelet aggregation and may prolong prothrombin time
Contraindications
- Known Hypersensitivity: Not to be used
- Peptic Ulcer: Contraindicated
- Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: Contraindicated
- Hepatic or Renal Impairment: Contraindicated
- History of Aspirin/NSAID-induced symptoms: Contraindicated

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety in Pregnancy: Not established
- Recommendation: Use in pregnancy only if potential benefits outweigh potential risks
- Transmission through Breast Milk: Should not be taken by nursing mother
Precautions & Warnings
- Allergic Diseases: Administer with caution
- Withdrawal: In case of diarrhoea, rashes, cholestatic jaundice, thrombocytopenia, haemolytic anaemia
