Indications

• Treatment of asthma in patients 12 years of age and older
• Maintenance treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in patients including chronic bronchitis and emphysema

Dosage

• Recommended maintenance dose for adults and adolescents (12 years and older)
• Usual maintenance dose for children
• Alternative dosage regimens for Budesonide and Formoterol combination
• Maximum daily maintenance dose for adults (40 years and older)

Mode of Action

• Budesonide: exhibits potent glucocorticoid activity and weak mineralocorticoid activity
• Formoterol Fumarate Dihydrate: long-acting, selective β2 - adrenergic agonist with rapid onset of action

Administration

• Instructions for using an inhaler effectively

Interaction

Co-administration with other medications to be avoided or used with caution

Contraindications

• Primary treatment of status asthmaticus or other acute episodes of asthma or COPD
