Pharmacology
- Active against Gram-positive organisms
- Inhibits formation of bacterial cell wall
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Resistance to hydrolysis by penicillinase
- Gastric acid stability
- Binds to penicillinase-producing staphylococci
Dosage
- Oral administration
- Parenteral administration
- Adult dosage: 250 mg four times daily
- Children dosage: 1/2 to 1/4 of adult dose
- Intramuscular and Intravenous Injection
Administration
- Oral dose 1 hour before meal
Interaction
- Concurrent use may increase blood level for prolonged period

- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
