Indications

• Replacement of fluid and electrolyte loss
• Treatment for acute diarrhea
• Treatment for vomiting
• Treatment for dehydration
• Suitable for patients of all age groups

Composition

• Each sachet contains Sodium Chloride BP 1.30 gm
• Each sachet contains Potassium Chloride BP 0.75 gm
• Each sachet contains Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate BP 1.45 gm
• Each sachet contains Glucose Anhydrous BP 6.75 gm

Pharmacology

• Oral rehydration salt preparation
• Composed of anhydrous glucose, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and sodium citrate
• Effective for treating or preventing dehydration from diarrhea of any cause
• Prevents acidosis due to electrolyte imbalance

Dosage

• Daily dose equivalent to patients' fluid requirement for maintenance and replenishment of losses
• Specific doses for children less than 2 years, children 2 to 10 years, and adults/children above 10 years
• Instructions for preparation and consumption after each loose stool or vomiting episode

Administration

• Dispersing the sachet contents in 500 mL of pure drinking water
• Caution against using hot water or heating the solution
• Advisory on discarding unused prepared solution after 12 hours

Interaction

• No known drug interactions

Precautions & Warnings

• Supplementation with parenteral fluids for depressed renal function, severe continuing diarrhea, or other critical fluid losses
