Description
Prazia 20 mg Capsule is a proton pump inhibitor used to relieve chronic heartburn, heal erosive esophagitis, eradicate H. pylori infection, and treat Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, dyspepsia, duodenal and gastric ulcers.
Indications
- Relief from chronic heartburn symptoms
- Healing of erosive esophagitis
- Maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with duodenal ulcer disease
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- Treatment of acid-related Dyspepsia
- Management of duodenal & gastric ulcers
Pharmacology
- ModeOfAction: Proton pump inhibitor suppressing gastric acid secretion
- Absorption: Enteric-coated pellet formulation with peak plasma levels at ~1.5 hours
- Distribution: 97% plasma protein binding, steady state volume of distribution ~16 L
- Metabolism: Extensively metabolized in the liver by CYP enzymes
- Excretion: Plasma elimination half-life of ~1-1.5 hours, <1% excreted in urine

Administration
