Indications

Pharmacology
- Dihydropyridine calcium-channel blocker
- Binds to dihydropyridine binding sites
- Inhibits Ca2+ influx
- Vasodilation
- Inhibits N-type voltage dependent calcium channels
- Suppresses reflex increase in heart rate
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 5-10 mg once daily after breakfast
- Maximum adult dose: 20 mg once daily
- Pediatric use not established
- Elderly use: Initiate with lowest possible dose (5 mg)

- Other anti-hypertensive drugs
- Antipsychotics causing hypotension
- Quinidine
- Carbamazepine

Contraindications
- Known sensitivity to Cilnidipine or its excipients
- Cardiogenic shock
- Recent MI
- Acute unstable angina
- Severe aortic stenosis

Precautions & Warnings
- Administer with care in serious hepatic dysfunction
- History of serious adverse reactions to calcium antagonists
- Gradually decrease dosage during discontinuation
