Indications

• Treatment of hypertension

Pharmacology

• Block vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin-II
• Thiazide diuretic action

Dosage & Administration

• Usual starting dose of 20/12.5 mg once daily
• Individualized dosing

Interaction

• No significant drug interactions with Olmesartan
• Interaction with various drugs when co-administered with Hydrochlorothiazide

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
• Anuria or hypersensitivity to sulfonamide-derived drugs

• Periodic determination of serum electrolytes
• Hyperuricemia risk
• Impaired renal function

• No dosage adjustment necessary for hepatic impairment
• Not recommended for paediatric use
• Cautious dose selection for geriatric patients

Overdose Effects

• Manifestation of overdosage may include hypotension and tachycardia for Olmesartan
• Electrolyte depletion and dehydration for Hydrochlorothiazide
