Indications
- Symptomatic treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinoconjunctivitis
- Symptomatic treatment of urticaria
- Relief of symptoms of hay fever
Pharmacology
- Potent non-sedating histamine antagonist
- High affinity to H1 receptor
- Selective binding to H1 receptor
- Does not show affinity for 30 other receptors
Dosage & Administration
- Adults & adolescents dosing: 20 mg tablet once daily
- Children (6-11 years) dosing: 10 mg mouth dissolving tablet
- Children (2-11 years) dosing: 4 ml once daily
Interaction
- Increases concentration with ketoconazole, erythromycin, cyclosporine, or diltiazem
- No potentiation of depressant CNS effects with lorazepam
- No significant interaction with alcohol
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients
