Description

  • Linez is indicated for the treatment of nosocomial pneumonia, community-acquired pneumonia, complicated skin and skin structure infections, uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections.
  • Linez is a synthetic, antibacterial agent with in vitro activity against Gram positive aerobic bacteria, some Gram positive anaerobic bacteria, and certain Gram negative bacteria.
  • Linezolid tablets should be taken orally with or without food, while Linezolid IV infusion should be administered intravenously over a period of 30 to 120 minutes.
  • Linez does not interact well with medications that inhibit monoamine oxidases, and patients are advised to avoid large quantities of foods or beverages with high tyramine content while taking Linez.
  • Linez formulations are contraindicated for use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Linezolid or any of the product components, and precautions should be taken in patients with hypertension, pheochromocytoma, thyrotoxicosis, and other conditions.
  • Common adverse events in patients treated with Linez include diarrhea, headache, nausea, oral moniliasis, vaginal moniliasis, hypertension, dyspepsia, localized abdominal pain, pruritus, and tongue discoloration.
  • Linez should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus, and lactating women should consider the developmental and health benefits of breastfeeding along with the potential adverse effects on the breastfed child.
  • No cases of Linez overdose have been reported, and Linez formulations should be stored at room temperature away from light and moisture.
