Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 1 film-coated tablet twice daily, with or after main meals
- Children 3-7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily
- Children 7 years and older: 1-2 effervescent tablets daily

- Risk of hypercalcemia with thiazide diuretics
- Avoiding hypocalcaemia in digitalized patients
- Effects of certain foods on calcium absorption
- Concomitant treatment with phenytoin or barbiturates

Contraindications
- Absolute contraindications: hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, Vitamin-D3 overdosage, severe renal failure
- Relative contraindications: osteoporosis due to prolonged immobilization, renal stones, severe hypercalciuria
Side Effects
- Mild gastrointestinal disturbances
- Occasional skin rash
- Hypercalciuria and hypercalcaemia with long-term high-dose treatment
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Increased requirements for calcium and vitamin-D3
- Caution in administering calcium and iron supplements simultaneously
- Potential teratogenic effects of vitamin-D3 overdoses
- Passage of vitamin-D3 and its metabolites into breast milk
