Description

  • A combination medication used for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension in patients stabilized on the individual components given in the same proportion.

Dosage and Administration

  • Maximum daily dose: 10 mg ramipril and 50 mg hydrochlorothiazide

Indications

Mode of Action

  • Ramipril: angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor
  • Ramipril reduces plasma angiotensin II and decreases vasopressor activity
  • Hydrochlorothiazide: thiazide diuretic that increases excretion of sodium and chloride

Interaction

  • Potentiates antihypertensive response to diuretics or other antihypertensive agents
