Eraxis 100 mg/vial (IV Infusion)

Indications

• Candidemia and other forms of Candida infections in adults and pediatric patients
• Esophageal candidiasis in adults

Pharmacology

• Anidulafungin inhibits glucan synthase in fungal cells

Dosage & Administration

• Duration of treatment up to 35 days for 100 mg dose
• No dosing adjustments required for renal and hepatic impairment
• No dosing adjustments required for gender, weight, ethnicity, HIV positivity, or elderly
• Different dosages for adults and pediatric patients
• Method of administration: intravenous use only, reconstitution and dilution process, infusion rate

Interaction

• No significant alteration in pharmacokinetics when co-administered with specific drugs

Contraindications

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of Anidulafungin or other Echinocandins

Precautions & Warnings

• Risk of abnormal liver tests, hepatitis, hepatic failure; monitor hepatic function
• Hypersensitivity: anaphylaxis, infusion-related adverse reactions
• Risk of neonatal toxicity with polysorbates
• Eraxis contains fructose, risk of metabolic crisis in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance

Overdose Effects

• No reported clinical adverse events from a single 400 mg dose
