Indications
- Relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis

Pharmacology
- Exhibits anti-inflammatory properties
- Exhibits analgesic properties

Dosage & Administration
- Available in 500 mg & 750 mg Tablet
- Available in 1000 mg Tablet
- Recommended starting dose: 1000 mg
- Can be taken with or without food
- Maximum daily dose not to exceed 2000 mg
Interaction
- May diminish antihypertensive effect of ACE-inhibitors
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to nabumetone or its excipients
- Patients with asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs
- Contraindicated for peri-operative pain in the setting of CABG surgery
Side Effects
- Gastrointestinal effects: diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting
- Central Nervous System effects: dizziness, headache, fatigue, insomnia
- Dermatologic effects: pruritus, rash
- Special Senses effects: tinnitus
- Miscellaneous effects: edema
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C
- Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed
- Not recommended for use in nursing mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Associated with renal papillary necrosis and abnormal renal pathology in animals
- May lead to reduction in renal blood flow or blood volume
- Discontinuation typically followed by recovery
Overdose Effects
- Symptoms include lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain
- Gastrointestinal bleeding can occur
- Hypertension, acute renal failure, respiratory depression, and coma are rare
