Indications
- Treatment of eye infections
- Prevention of inflammation after eye surgery
Composition
- Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Moxifloxacin 5 mg
- Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate USP equivalent to Dexamethasone Phosphate 1 mg
Pharmacology
- Broad spectrum 4th generation fluorinated quinolone
- Inhibits topoisomerase II and topoisomerase IV
- Anti-allergic, anti-exudative and anti-proliferative properties
Dosage & Administration
- Instill 1 drop, 4 times a day for prevention of infection and post-surgical ocular inflammation
- Instill the medication immediately after eye surgery for patients undergoing cataract surgery
- Instill the medication at least 15 minutes after ocular surgery for patients undergoing LASIK refractive surgery
- Instill 1 drop, 4 times a day for up to 7 days in eye infections caused by susceptible microorganisms
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to quinolones or any components of the product
- Glaucoma or ocular disease causing thinning of the cornea or sclera
- Inflammation in the eye caused by virus, fungi or mycobacteria
- Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis, vaccinia, varicella, and other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva
- Mycobacterial and fungal diseases of ocular structures

- Caution advised in pregnancy and lactation
- Use only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus
Precautions & Warnings
- Discontinue use if allergic reaction occurs
- Prolonged steroid use may result in ocular hypertension and/or glaucoma
- Evaluate intraocular pressure routinely
- Use with caution in diseases causing thinning of the cornea or sclera
- Steroids may mask or enhance existing infection
Use in Special Populations
- No change in dosage is required in elderly patients
- Efficacy and safety not established in pediatric patients
