Description
- Metabolic precursor of dopamine

Interaction
- Symptomatic postural hypotension with antihypertensives
- Adverse reactions with tricyclic antidepressants

- Reversal of therapeutic effects by phenytoin and papaverine
- Severe orthostatic hypotension with selegiline
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to carbidopa and levodopa
- Narrow-angle glaucoma
- Potential activation of malignant melanoma
