Indications
- Treatment of airflow obstruction in COPD
- Long-term bronchodilator treatment
Description
- Long-acting β2-adrenergic agonist
- Acts locally in the lung as a bronchodilator
- Stimulation of intracellular adenyl cyclase
Dosage & Administration
- Once-daily maintenance bronchodilator treatment
- Inhalation of specific dosages
- Administration by orally inhaled route
- No dosage adjustment for specific patient groups
Interaction
- Interaction with adrenergic drugs, xanthine derivatives, steroids, diuretics
- Concurrent treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants
- Interference with beta-blockers
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in asthma patients without long-term control medication
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the product or its ingredients
Side Effects
- Commonly reported adverse effects such as cough, nasopharyngitis, headache, nausea
- Less common adverse effects such as hypersensitivity reactions, paradoxical bronchospasm, tachycardia
