Indications
- Acute relief of angina pectoris
- Acute prophylaxis of angina pectoris
Pharmacology
- Nitric oxide activation
- Guanosine 3'5' monophosphate increase
- Vasodilation
Dosage & Administration
- Sublingual administration
- Dissolve under the tongue
- Repeat dose every 5 minutes if necessary
- Prompt medical attention after 3 tablets in a 15-minute period
Interaction
- Observation for additive hypotensive effects
- Avoid concomitant use with certain drugs
- Enhanced effects with aspirin administration
- Avoid ergotamine or monitor for symptoms of ergotism
Contraindications
- Early myocardial infarction
- Severe anemia
- Increased intracranial pressure
- Known hypersensitivity to Nitroglycerin
- Concurrent use with sildenafil citrate
