Description

Lamogin is a phenyltriazine antiepileptic used to treat some types of epilepsy and bipolar disorder. It controls epileptic seizures by inhibiting voltage-sensitive sodium channels, thereby stabilizing neuronal membranes and consequently inhibiting presynaptic excitatory neurotransmitter release.

Indications

  • Adjunctive therapy for epilepsy (patients aged 2 years and older)
  • Monotherapy for epilepsy (patients aged 16 years and older)
  • Treatment for bipolar disorder (patients aged 18 years and older)

Mode of Action

  • Inhibition of voltage-sensitive sodium channels
  • Stabilization of neuronal membranes
  • Inhibition of presynaptic excitatory neurotransmitter release

Dosage and Administration

Interactions
