Baricent 2 mg (Tablet)

Indications

• Moderate to severely active Rheumatoid Arthritis treatment
• Inadequate response to TNF antagonist therapies

Pharmacology

• Selective and reversible JAK1 and JAK2 inhibitor
• Modulates intracellular signaling pathways
• Reduces phosphorylation and activation of STATs

Dosage & Administration

• Adult dose: 2 mg once daily
• Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness not established
• Geriatric Use: Careful dose selection for elderly patients
• Hepatic Impairment: No dose adjustment for mild or moderate impairment
• Renal impairment: Not recommended for GFR < 60 mL/min/I .73 m2

Interaction

• Increased exposure with strong OAT3 inhibitors
• Not studied with other JAK inhibitors or biologic DMARDS

Contraindications

• Anemia
• Lymphopenia
• Neutropenia

Side Effects

• Increased LDL cholesterol
• Upper respiratory tract infections
• Nausea

Pregnancy & Lactation

Contraindicated during pregnancy, no available information for human milk

Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid in serious infections
• Avoid in active TB
• Consider risks and benefits in malignancy and lymphoproliferative disorders
• Caution in thrombosis and gastrointestinal perforations
• To be dispensed only by prescription
