Indications
- Prepares to disinfect clean hands before surgical procedures

Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol BP
Pharmacology
Bactericidal effect due to binding of positively charged chlorhexidine cation to negatively charged bacterial cell walls
Dosage & Administration
- Disinfect clean hands: use about 3 ml and scrub hands until dried
- Disinfect surgical instruments: use about 5 ml and immerse for 2 minutes
- Disinfect skin prior to surgery: use about 3 ml with cotton and scrub until dried
- Disinfect wounds/wound dressings: use about 3 ml with cotton and scrub until dried
Interaction
Incompatible with soaps and other anionic agents
Contraindications
Should not be used in patients with Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any of its components

- May cause eye problems on direct contact
Pregnancy & Lactation
Safe for pregnant women. Not known if it is safe during lactation

- Avoid contact with brain, meninges, middle ear, or sensitive tissues
