Indications

Pharmacology
- Histamine H2-receptor antagonist
- Inhibition of gastric acid secretion
- Reversible H2-receptor antagonist activity
Dosage & Administration
- Usual dose for adults: Famotidine 20 mg twice daily
- Administration of Famotidine 40 mg once daily at bedtime
- Dosage adjustment according to age and symptoms
- Maintenance therapy with recommended oral dose of 20 mg once daily
Interaction
- No clinically important drug interactions
- No interaction with cytochrome P450-linked drug-metabolizing enzyme system
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any component of the drug
