Description

Gavinate 500 Suspension is a combination of two antacids and an alginate, used to treat gastric reflux, heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence associated with gastric reflux.

Pharmacology

  • Neutralizing excess stomach acid

  • Impeding gastro-esophageal reflux

Dosage & Administration

  • Oral suspension for adults and children over 12 years
  • Oral suspension for children 6 to 12 years
  • Chewable tablet for adults and children 12 years and over

  • No dose modifications for hepatic impairment
  • Caution for renal insufficiency with highly restricted salt diet

Interaction

  • Consideration of time-interval with other medicinal products such as tetracyclines, digoxin, fluoroquinolone, iron salt, ketoconazole, neuroleptics, thyroid hormones, penicillamine, beta-blockers, glucocorticoid, chloroquine, biphosphonates, and estramustine

  • Known or suspected hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or excipients
