Indications
- Primary hyperlipidemia
- Mixed dyslipidemia
- Hypertriglyceredemia
- Dysbetalipoproteinemia
- Atherosclerosis progression
- Risk reduction of myocardial infarction and stroke
Pharmacology
- Selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase
- Enhances uptake and catabolism of LDL
- Inhibits hepatic synthesis of VLDL and LDL
Dosage & Administration
- Usual dose range: 5-20 mg/day
- Maximum recommended dose: 20 mg/day
- Special dosage for different patient populations and conditions

- Cyclosporine interaction
