Indications
- Treatment of hypertension
- Use as initial therapy in patients who may need multiple drugs for blood pressure goals
Pharmacology
- Fixed dose combination of Telmisartan and Amiodipine
- Telmisartan mechanism of action as an angiotensin receptor blocker
- Amiodipine mechanism of action as a calcium-channel blocker
Dosage & Administration
- Usual starting dose of 40/5 mg once daily
- Option for larger blood pressure reductions with 80/5 mg once daily
- Add-on Therapy for patients not controlled with single agents
- Replacement Therapy for patients receiving separate telmisartan and amiodipine tablets
Interaction
- Co-administration with acetaminophen, simvastatin, hydrochlorothiazide, warfarin, or ibuprofen
- Safety with thiazide diuretics, beta-blockers, and other medications
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to the product
- Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation
- Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment, hypotension, and cardiogenic shock
