Pharmacology
- Benzoic acid elicits weak antifungal and antibacterial properties

- Salicylic acid softens and destroys the stratum corneum by increasing endogenous hydration
- Salicylic acid causes the horny layer of the skin to swell, soften, and then desquamate
- Salicylic acid at high concentrations has a caustic effect
- Salicylic acid possesses weak antifungal and antibacterial activity
Dosage & Administration
- Apply locally on the affected area 2-3 times per day
Interaction
- Unknown interactions with other topical medications applied to the treatment area
- No studies on the use of Ensal with other topical drugs
