Indications

Pharmacology
- Oral mucolytic agent
- Disrupts acid mucopolysaccharide fibres
- Produces less viscous mucus
- Rapid & complete absorption
- Widely distributed in body tissues
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times daily
- Children (6-12 years) dose: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 3 times daily
- Children (2-6 years) dose: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) 3 times daily
- Not recommended for children under 2 years without advice

Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to Bromhexine Hydrochloride
Side Effects

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Special care recommended during pregnancy
- Benefits of bromhexine must be assessed against possible effects on children
- Not recommended during lactation due to entry into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Use with care in patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease
- Advisable in asthmatic patients
- Clearance may be reduced in severe hepatic or renal impairment
