Indications

Pharmacology
- Oral mucolytic agent
- Disrupts acid mucopolysaccharide fibres in mucoid sputum
- Produces less viscous mucus
- Facilitates expectoration
- Rapid & complete absorption from gastrointestinal tract
- Widely distributed in body tissues
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times daily
- Children over 12 years dose: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times daily
- Children 6-12 years dose: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 3 times daily
- Children 2-6 years dose: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) 3 times daily
- Bromhexine Hydrochloride not recommended for children under 2 years without advice
Interaction
- No known significant interactions with other drugs
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to Bromhexine Hydrochloride or any product ingredients
Side Effects
- Occasional gastrointestinal side effects
- Transient rise in serum aminotransferase values
- Headache
- Vertigo (dizziness)

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Special care recommended during pregnancy

- Careful use in patients with history of peptic ulcer disease
