Calamin M 15%+5%+5% (Lotion)

Indications

• Relieves pain, itching, and discomfort from poison ivy, oak, and sumac irritations
• Helps dry oozing and weeping caused by irritation from these plants

Pharmacology

• Calamine has mild astringent and antipruritic actions
• Zinc oxide has astringent, soothing, and protective properties
• Used in topical preparations for eczema, wounds, and haemorrhoids
• Reflects ultraviolet radiation and can be used as a physical sunscreen

Dosage

• Adult: Apply 3-4 times daily for 3-5 days

Administration

• For external use on the skin only
• Shake the bottle well before using
• Apply with a cotton pad and allow to dry on the skin
• Consult doctor or pharmacist if uncertain about usage

Interaction

• No known drug interactions for calamine/zinc oxide topical

Contraindications

• History of hypersensitivity to any of the components

Side Effects

• Rare but serious allergic reactions
• Symptoms include rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing
