Indications
Treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and skin & soft tissue infections
Description
Acid-stable and semi-synthetic oral cephalosporin rapidly absorbed after oral administration
Pharmacology
Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell wall assembly arrest and bacterial cell death
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage for different infections
- Children dosage: 30 mg/kg daily in divided doses every 12 hours
- May be taken with meals or on an empty stomach

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Cefadroxil or any of its ingredients

Commonly reported side effects: gastrointestinal disturbances and hypersensitivity phenomena

Precautions & Warnings
May cause pseudomembranous colitis; caution when diarrhea occurs in association with Cefador therapy
