Indications
- Treatment of upper respiratory tract infections
- Treatment of urinary tract infections

Description
- Acid-stable and semi-synthetic oral cephalosporin
- Rapid absorption after oral administration
- Maintains urine concentration above MIC of susceptible urinary pathogens
Pharmacology
- Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis
- Binds to penicillin-binding proteins
- Inhibits transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis
- Arrests cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage for different infections
- Children dosage
- Can be taken with or without meals
- Administration with food may diminish gastrointestinal complaints
Interaction
- No significant drug interaction with other drugs
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Cefadroxil or any of its ingredients

- Commonly reported gastrointestinal disturbances and hypersensitivity phenomena
Pregnancy & Lactation
- US FDA pregnancy category B
- Lack of adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Excretion in human milk
