Pharmacology
- Semisynthetic analogue of Cephalosporin C
- Interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis

Dosage for Adults
- 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 hours
- 500 mg for specific infections every 12 hours
- Increased dose up to 3 g to 6 g daily for severe infections
Dosage for Children
- 25-100 mg/kg/day in divided doses to a maximum of 4 g daily
- Weight-based dosages for specific age groups
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics
