Pharmacology
Magnesium prevents or controls convulsions by blocking neuromuscular transmission and contributes to over 600 cellular reactions throughout the body. Approximately 24-76% of ingested magnesium is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract via passive paracellular absorption in the small intestine.
